Cultural Policy Review Implementation Task Team is Selected (from City website)

After the Cultural Policy Review (CPR) Report to the Eugene City Council on July 25, Library, Recreation and Cultural Services (LRCS) Executive Director Renee Grube in late August appointed a task team to assist staff in moving the goals and strategies forward.

Members of the CPR Implementation Task Team: Alan Evans, Gretchen Pierce, Randy Stender, Tina Rinaldi, Mindy Linder and Fred Crafts. Four of the Task Team members (Alan Evans, Gretchen Pierce, Tina Rinaldi and Mindy Linder) served on the Mayor's Cultural Policy Review Committee. The Implementation Task Team will be responsible for reviewing the CPR report and setting broad priorities for implementation.

A primary focus of the Task Team will be to advise the City of Eugene's LRCS Dept. on how to advance two key strategies: 1) Establishing an "Alliance" for arts and culture that will coordinate and strengthen the efforts of the public, private and non-profit cultural sectors and foster high-level civic leadership in support of arts and culture; and 2) developing and funding a dedicated endowment or trust for Eugene's cultural organizations to increase public and private sector support for arts and culture.
