Your Talent Can Help Us Save Lives!Greenhill Humane Society announces “Art for Animals,” a live and silent art auction to support lost and homeless pets in our community taking place on November 10th at Ninkasi’s Administrative Building. All mediums are welcome, including but not limited to painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewelry and fiber arts. Artwork is enjoyed and purchased by a diverse group of collectors, art enthusiasts and animal supporters. Funds raised at the auction ensure that Greenhill can continue to provide safe shelter, medical care, healthy food, behavior training and adoption services for thousands of pets in need each year. UO ©RITICAL A®T SHOW

Deadline to Apply: November 1st, 2017

On November 16th from 6:30-9pm, the University of Oregon will host the first ever UO ©ritical A®t Show, which is an event that brings together student and community artists.

Proposed work, which must be submitted by November 1st, must meet two basic criteria: 1) the work must sample, borrow, appropriate, remix other media and 2) the work must somehow be critical of consumer culture, politics, celebrity, etc. The art can be 2d, paint, 3d (sculpture, glass, etc.), video, audio, project, etc. The goal is for the art to utilize the legal concept of fair use, which allows for borrowing other works to directly critique them, for public benefit, and as long as the new work doesn’t replace the market for the old.  Read more


LIGHT UP THE NIGHT

ArtCity will light up the night with local artists during the December 1st First Friday ArtWalk. “Light Up The Night” will be a showcase of multidisciplinary arts that use light and/or film to create artistic expression in the darkness of nightfall. This includes but is not limited to projected light installations, short films, dance, poetry, sculpture, and music.  Read more

 


THE FOUR SEASONS OF THE MCKENZIE RIVER

Eugene Symphony presents “The Four Seasons of the McKenzie River,” a year-long project in partnership with McKenzie River Trust and Travel Lane County. The project highlights the beautiful nature of Oregon’s McKenzie River in an innovative performance of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons on February 15, 2018 at the Hult Center.  Artists are invited to submit hi-resolution photographs and video of the McKenzie River and its environs, throughout all seasons of the year. Submitted imagery will be selected through a juried process for inclusion in the final production of a full-length video by Attic Media, Inc., which will be projected above the stage as the orchestra plays Vivaldi’s music live.  Read more


SIUSLAW BRIDGE STEPS ART INSTALLATION

The Siuslaw Bridge in Old Town Florence is a historic landmark, a symbol for the city, and gateway to the riverfront downtown area. The Siuslaw Bridge Steps Art Installation Project is an exciting outdoor public art project designed to beautify and enhance the park-like hill and pedestrian steps leading from Old Town Florence up to the Siuslaw Bridge. The vision for this project is to install artwork on the steps, utilizing them as a canvas while also incorporating the railings, lighting, and natural incline of the landscape. Read more

 


WINTER/SPRING 2018 EXHIBITION SERIES AT SLIGHTLY COFFEE

Eugene Contemporary Art is teaming up with Slightly Coffee (formerly Barn Light East) to host a series of individual or group shows in their E 8th event space location in Eugene, Oregon. Shows will last for one month and have openings on the last Saturday of the month.  Due to the size of the space, flat work (drawing, prints, painting, mixed media on canvas or paper) is ideal, however, small sculpture or installation pieces that can be hung on the walls may be considered. Read more

3 Dimensions Gallery, a new gallery located in downtown Eugene, is currently taking submissions for quality sculpture to be shown on commission. Please send your images and info to dimensionsgallery@outlook.com to be considered. 3 Dimensions Studio and Gallery (269 W 8th Ave) is a private studio and gallery housing a unique selection of sculpture that can be viewed every First Friday and by appointment.
