LANE COMMUNITY COLLEGE SEEKS ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

Lane Community College is seeking artists for its Artists in Residence Program for Summer-Fall 2017. The program is part of the Presidential Lecture Series that brings scholars and speakers to Lane Community College to enrich the educational experience of their students and the Oregon community. The selected artist or artists (1-3 awards) will be paid a stipend of
$3000 per month to help cover their expenses. Read more


TROPICAL CONTEMPORARY: CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Tropical Contemporary is currently seeking proposals for our Sept 2017 – May 2018 season of exhibition programming at our project space at 1120 Bailey Hill Road #11. These proposals may include performances, installations, events, workshops, screenings, solo and group exhibitions, juried shows, and curatorial projects. The scope of these proposals can range from single-night events to multi-week exhibitions. Tropical Contemporary seeks to create an environment of inclusivity, energy, and critical dialogue within the Eugene art community, and will prioritize the exhibition of work that contributes materially to those interests. THE NEW ZONE GALLERY: OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS- “STAND UP”

In honor of the Eugene-Springfield Pride Day Festival, The New Zone Gallery will be hosting a community showcase in the Klausmeier room during the month of August. This is an themed show in conjunction with the Pride 2017 theme, “Stand Up.” An opening reception is scheduled on Friday August 4th from 5:30pm-9:00pm, with food, music and libations! Voting will occur that evening during the FirstFriday Artwalk with a people’s choice award presented to the winning artist. Their artwork will then be on display for all to see at the Eugene Springfield Pride Festival located in Alton Baker on Saturday August 12th. Read more

background  in public arts management, and knowledge of contemporary visual arts, to act as  Public Art Consultant for the Eugene Airport. This position involves developing a Public Art Master Plan, assessing used and available spaces, and creating a public art selection process.  Read more


DIA DE LOS MUERTOS EXHIBIT
Deadline to Apply: August 11th, 2017

Maude Kerns Art Center is accepting submissions for Día de los Muertos, to be displayed October 13th through November 3rd. Artwork must focus on the Mexican Day of the Dead, which blends the ancient harvest rituals of the Aztec god of death and the Roman Catholic holidays of All Saints and All Souls Days. The celebration honors the dead and acknowledges the link between the communities of the living and the dead. Read more

NATIONAL ACADEMY OF MEDICINE: “VISUALIZE HEALTH EQUALITY”

Show us what health equity would look like to you—whether it’s access to healthy food or safe neighborhoods, good education or a living wage, clean drinking water or affordable housing, connection to cultural heritage or lack of discrimination, or any other opportunity that helps you live your healthiest life. 3 Dimensions Gallery, a new gallery located in downtown Eugene, is currently taking submissions for quality sculpture to be shown on commission.
