MACDOWELL CALL FOR ARTISTS: FALL 2019

The MacDowell Colony is pleased to announce a partnership with The Ford Family Foundation to provide residency opportunities for Oregon’s visual artists. The cost of a Fellowship will be funded by The Ford Family Foundation and a travel stipend of up to $1,000 will be funded by MacDowell based on need. Additional stipends of up to $1,000 from MacDowell’s financial aid program will also be made available based on need. MacDowell’s artist residency in New Hampshire provides valuable work time as well as inspiring environment in which creative artists are provided with exclusive use of a studio, accommodations, and three prepared meals a day for two weeks to two months. LABORATORY CALL FOR FALL19 RESIDENTS

Laboratory’s mission is to provide practicing interactive artists with the time, space, and freedom to make thoughtful and innovative work in Spokane, WA. We offer space to live and work, tools, mentorship, and connections to make that happen. Plus, a $200 a month stipend if you have the right to work in the USA. For our Fall 19 residency, we’re looking for artists interested in spending 2-3 months between Sep 1st to Nov 30th in 2019, working on projects in any of our three tracks: Production – Make awesome new work; Research – Investigate an issue;  or Learning – Develop new skills. The Laboratory residency is a fully funded program. Each artist will have a room in a shared apartment, and a private studio space one floor below in the same building. Read more


HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT REGIONAL ART CONTEST: CELEBRATE THE WEST

The Western Governors’ Association is proud to announce its 4th Annual “Celebrate the West” regional art competition that challenges high school students to create works inspired by their state. Oregon students have not submitted as many entries in the past and are especially encouraged to apply! Students are welcome to submit artwork used for other contests or assignments. Students’ artwork will be returned, and shipping will be paid for by WGA. It is easy to enter- students only need to email a photograph of their artwork along with the entry form – find the form and more info here.

CALL FOR ORIGINAL PLAYS
Deadline to apply: May 15th, 2019

Submissions of original full-length plays by Latina/o-identified playwrights are now being accepted for INGENIO Milagro 2019. Four plays will be selected, assigned directors and actors, rehearsed, and presented in concert-style readings over three days. Plays can be in English, Spanish, or bilingual. Read more


SISTERS OUTDOOR QUILT SHOW

The Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is accepting applications starting 2/15/19. The show is noted as the “Worlds Largest Quilt Show” and last year showed over 1,400 quilts. There is a quilt block contest, a sew down, and raffle prizes that day of the show. Read more

Whiteaker Printmakers and Print Arts Northwest is proud to announce their second annual Emerald Print Exchange. Each printmaker sends in twelve prints and in return you will receive ten randomly selected prints. Entries are open to the first 200 artists that register. Read more

CITY OF EUGENE CALL FOR MAYOR’S ART SHOW

The City of Eugene invites artists who live, work or exhibited work in the City of Eugene to submit work for the juried Mayor’s Art Show. Established, emerging, and student artists are encouraged to apply. The Mayor’s Art Show is part of a larger celebration of contemporary visual art, artists and the City’s public spaces. Awards will be given based on the consideration of the following criteria: conceptual strength, artistic merit, innovation, craftsmanship and materials. $15 entrance fee. Coffee Table and Credenza 3D Art & Sculpture 

Show in August 2019

The Emerald Art Center is seeking 3D art and sculpture submissions for its juried exhibition “Coffee Table and Credenza”. Submissions must be 6-20″ in their largest dimension, for sale under $1000.00, purchase award, and must be received digitally, with images of front, side, top and rear. These works will be displayed in the Jaqua Gallery on the Mezzanine. Two Rivers Mask Making Competition

Two Rivers Art Gallery in Chiloquin, Oregon is hosting is hosting a Northwestern Regional Mask Making Competition. The show will open with a Gala Party on September 29th and close with an Awards Party on October 27th. Over $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the best masks in many fun categories including silly, scary, dramatic, surprising, glamorous and unique. $10 submission fee per each mask. Read more
