LaneArts/YouthArts 2010 Plan
To outline the organization's priorities for the next three years, the Board in September 2007 completed and adopted LaneArts/YouthArts 2010 (below), which (1) identifies Lane Arts Council's priorities, (2) guides how its arts education programs (YouthArts) serve artists, students, and teachers, and (3) reaffirms its essential role in community arts.

LaneArts/YouthArts 2010
One. Organization: Scope and Capacity
A. Mission. The mission of LaneArts is to:
Strengthen and support arts education and community arts.
B. Name. The organization will
- Retain Lane Arts Council as legal name.
- Retain logos and branding completed in 2005.
- Use LaneArts and YouthArts as the brand names and in combination as appropriate.
C. Service region. Lane Arts/YouthArts actively promotes and provides arts education and community arts programs and services in central Lane County.
D. Office & Systems. LA/YA maintains
Community presence, including an office and meeting space, at Midtown Arts Center, 1590 Willamette Suite 200, Eugene, Oregon 97401
Professional physical support systems for services, communication, marketing and resources development services.
A website - www.lanearts.org - representing clearly the scope of its current services.
Two. Programs: Services and Partnerships
A. YouthArts. Develops and manages excellent arts education programs, working with artists, educators, and students including:
- In-school programs: Artist Residencies and Performance Assemblies.
- Non-school time programs: After-school (DOE and 21st Century Learning grants), SummerArts, and ArtsWorks teen projects.
- Teacher training, enrichment, and curriculum enhancement.
B. Community Arts. Continues LAC's 30-year history as a service-based multidisciplinary organization serving artists, participants, audiences and advocates by providing services and programs consistent with available stable funding:
- Enhance community arts in Eugene through programs such as grants management with the City of Eugene Cultural Services Division and First Friday ArtWalk.
- Assist with implementation of the City of Eugene's 2007 Cultural Plan, including the Alliance and the Trust concepts, the arts education consortium, and public art program.
- Collaborate with the Oregon Arts Commission and Oregon Cultural Trust to strengthen arts learning and arts education opportunities, arts services and regional arts council networking, and access to technical assistance.
- Assess the potential of a workplace giving program as a source of private funding for all the area's arts organizations.
- Partner with county and regional projects and act as fiscal agent on request and as funds are available.
Three. Resources.
A. People.
The Board of Directors, in order to provide leadership, responsibility, and representation necessary to fulfill the mission and sustain successful programs and services, including planning and assessment, advocacy and stewardship, and strategic and fiscal development, will
- Expand and diversify Board membership.
- Form a YouthArts "steward's circle" as a lead donor group.
- Support staffing and administrative support, as incorporated into the approved budget, for professional program management and assessment, planning, and resource development.
B. Funds.
To provide consistent and dependable programs of high quality, the organization will:
- Operate with sound financial management and a balanced budget based on known and likely funding sources.
- Plan and develop diverse funding sources within fiscal year time frames: through FY07-08 (Jun2008), FY Jul2008 - Jun2009, and FY Jul2009 - Jun2010.
- Develop sources of support to include:
- Service contracts with schools and local governments.
- Donations and contributions from private individuals and businesses to support services, programs, and management.
- Grants from public agencies and private foundations to support projects, programs, and capacity building.
- Sponsorship when there is the potential for marketing, visibility, and audience appeal.
- Complete and clearly present regular and accurate financial reports, an annual accountant review, and annual report of donors.

The monthly e-LaneArts and the lanearts.org website will continue as the Council's primary sources for announcements, information, and references.
Donations from people who support the vision and goals of LaneArts/YouthArts are needed and always appreciated. The Annual Report acknowledges and honors all who help.
