Performance Assembly Artists
Through Lane Arts Council’s Artist Assembly program, professional artists across multiple disciplines engage students in educational arts activities and bring the joy of the arts into local schools. Quality arts instruction provides young people with authentic learning experiences that engage minds, hearts, and bodies.
Teaching Artists offering Performance Assemblies visit schools for one-time events, offering students an exciting look into their art form. Assemblies are typically 45-60 minutes in length and are often performed for the entire school.
Job Type: Contract, part-time
Pay: Performance Assembly Artists are typically contracted for $300 for individual performers and $400 for ensembles.
Travel: This position will require travel to schools throughout Lane County
Reports to: Arts Education Program Manager
Prioritized Art Forms
In this round of recruitment, we are prioritizing performing who can lead assemblies distinct from those currently represented on our roster.
All artists, regardless of art form and practice, will be reviewed with full consideration and are encouraged to apply.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Leading and facilitating engaging in-school performance assemblies
- Developing performance structure and preparing materials for each assembly
- Using a variety of techniques to engage young people/audiences who may be hard-to-reach
- Building and sustaining professional and productive working relationships with site staff
- Maintaining a high level of flexibility and professionalism at all times
- Submitting evaluations to Lane Arts Council after each assembly
- Collaborating effectively with other experienced arts education professionals
- Attending Teaching Artist Professional Development workshops hosted by Lane Arts Council
