Project Description: Lane Arts Council is seeking graphic designers, illustrators, and 2D digital artists to visually represent stories from community members about belonging.
Wordcrafters in Eugene has invited community members to be a part of StoryHelix by sharing their stories about “Belonging” and their experience living in Eugene, Lane County, and Oregon. As a part of this effort, Lane Arts Council is selecting five artists to visually interpret these stories into 2-dimensional large-print posters. These posters (approximately 61” h by 47” w) will be printed on vinyl and installed in the windows of the Downtown Eugene Public Library (100 W 10th Ave) from July-September 2022. Selected artists are asked to collaborate with their storyteller throughout the process to ensure the intent of the story is captured.
For an example of installations similar to this project, please look at the Paper Monuments Poster Project in New Orleans as a reference, but this project cannot include small text.
Deadline to Apply: Monday, May 9th 11:59pm
Eligibility: All graphic designers, illustrators, and 2D visual artists can apply. If selected, artist must be able to send a final high resolution file that is print-ready in the requested dimensions.

Completed designs will be due June 20, 2022, with a potential round of edits the following week. These designs will be printed and installed no later than July 15, 2022, in time for Oregon22.
