Lane Arts Council Finance Coordinator

Position
Lane Arts Council’s Finance Coordinator oversees all of the organization’s financial transactions and ensures our financial practices and internal controls maintain the highest level of integrity. This position is an integral part of the organization’s operations and works closely with all Lane Arts Council staff.
FTE: .375, non-exempt, approximately 10-15 hours a week Compensation: $20-$30/hour, paid vacation and holidays Reports to: Executive Director
Duties & Responsibilities
Organizational Bookkeeping
- Maintain financial records of Lane Arts Council by accurately recording the day-to- day financial transactions of the organization
- Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts
- Allocate and post financial transaction details to QuickBooks
- Reconcile and balance all accounts
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Draw up monthly financial statements (profit and loss statements, balance sheet, and dashboard)
- Participate in Lane Arts Council Board Finance Committee meetings and present monthly financial statements to Finance Committee
- Collate and analyze account data and generate financial reports
- Maintain internal control systems
- Manage communications for all administrative and program invoices
- Prepare checks, ACH payments and bank deposits
- Prepare and process payroll
- Calculate and prepare tax payments
- Assist with annual compilation and form 990
- Issue 1099s to contractors and W2s to employees
- Assist with maintaining program spreadsheets
- Other duties as assigned
Grant Tracking and Budgets
- Support tracking of restricted funding; track grant budget income and expenditures
- Assist with development of program and organizational forecast and budgets
- Other duties as assigned
Administrative
- Be the lead contact for health insurance and retirement benefits
- Maintain schedule and complete forms (property-tax exemption, insurance, etc.)
- Maintain complete filing system to support financial records
- Track and maintain inventory
- Support office management
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and Excel (required)
- Extensive experience in bookkeeping, with high level knowledge of nonprofit accounting
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures (GAAP)
- Experience processing payroll with QuickBooks Desktop
- Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- An associate degree in accounting, finance or business (preferred but not required)
- Ability to manage requests from multiple team members
