Lane Arts Council announces nearly $57,000 in grants to arts organizations and arts projects in the Eugene area. The Community Arts Program is supported through a partnership with the City of Eugene Cultural Services Division.
This year nine community arts organizations, with annual budgets above $100,000, will receive Program Grants and seventeen projects will receive Project Grants. Ten of these projects meet the City’s goal of supporting programs that emphasize inclusion of underrepresented and underserved communities, and will be highlighted in the City’s communication tools.
“Eugene is an extraordinary community filled with a number of high-quality, diverse arts programming. I am grateful for the City of Eugene’s ongoing commitment to support these programs and work collectively make a difference in our community,” states Liora Sponko, Executive Director of Lane Arts Council.
Community Arts Grants will fund many projects ranging from community mural installations and environmental art displays to artist mentorships, youth scholarships at a summer rock camp, a new youth film festival, amongst others. The grants help ensure diverse and accessible arts opportunities and experiences for Eugene artists, audiences and participants. Community arts funds have been budgeted and allocated to Lane Arts Council since the early 1980s by the City of Eugene to assist a variety of community-based arts projects.
