Project Description

Take a rocket ship to outer space! Ride the Magic Train! Visit the Statue Museum! Dive under the sea and explore imaginary lands with creative dance. Ms. Rachel will work with the school to select from hundreds of crowd-pleasing creative dance games, activities, and stories based on the concepts of creative dance (SPACE, SHAPE, LEVEL, DIRECTION, SIZE, ENERGY. WEIGHT, BODY PARTS, etc.). Students will experience the joy of movement while learning more about their bodies, building strength and flexibility, and developing creativity and locomotor skills. This residency is tailored to the needs of each school and requires a site visit to ensure space requirements can be met. It can be developed into an integrated arts residency with additional planning time. No experience necessary.

Why I teach art:

My students have positive experiences with themselves through movement. Activities are approachable to all ages and abilities, whether it’s diving deep into an integrated arts curriculum or enjoying dance as an art form. No experience necessary, just a willingness to play while learning.
