Amie Pierzina, created with linoleum samples, part of Object Afterlife Challenge at Lincoln Gallery

The First Friday ArtWalk returns on August 6th to kick off Visual Arts Week! Join us, along with City of Eugene Cultural Services, in the Park Street Blocks at 5:30pm.  You’ll be able to pick up your ArtWalk guide to plan you self-guided tour, and hear opening remarks from Mayor Lucy Vinis and the premiere of Jorah LaFleur’s new spoken word piece on the theme of EMERGENCE. The performance invites reflection on how it feels to come out of our COVID-cocoons and to celebrate the importance of the arts in expressing what we’ve been through, and what we will choose to carry forward. Following the opening remarks, UP UP UP Inc. presents Crane Truck Circus Show at 6pm.

Please follow current CDC guidelines regarding mask usage

ArtWalk Highlight:
Object Afterlife Art Challenge
The Lincoln Gallery (309 W 4th Ave)

With a mission to connect scrap and fine art, MECCA challenged artists to make inspiring, thought-provoking, and creative works of art out of a mystery box of materials for the Object Afterlife Art Challenge. The resulting artworks exist in the space where artistic discovery and conservation meet, inspiring us all to think differently about the materials we may consider waste. On display through September 10th.

Special thanks to our August ArtWalk sponsor Summit Bank.
