Call for Makers: Apply by March 27th
Produced by ArtCity Eugene, Maker Fest 2020 is a community celebration of our local makers and the special legacy they represent for our community.
Maker Fest will take place in Downtown Eugene on Broadway and Willamette Streets during our June First Friday ArtWalk. With the streets closed to traffic and space opened up for booths and Maker Fest attendees, each Maker will be offered up to 10’x10′ of exhibition space for the display and sale of their work.
Applications are open to anyone who makes things, whether art, technology, products, food, music, books, plays, poetry, or anything else locally made.
Maker Fest will kick off the Nation of Makers Conference happening in Eugene this year. Darby Gianonne, Oregon State Representative for the Nation of Makers, explains, “Nation of Makers (NoM) , is a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting organizations that impact makers through community building, resource sharing, and advocacy. Within the maker movement and beyond, NoM helps maker organizations amplify their passion, innovation, creativity, and diversity, to maximize local and global impact. The annual Nation of Makers Conference (NOMCON) gathers maker leaders to spark and increase connections across sectors, generate robust local and national collaborations, and promote growth of an inclusive Nation of Makers.”
“Maker Fest, a first ever event, teams with the First Friday ArtWalk on June 5th, 2020 to showcase our community’s maker creativity and entrepreneurship — from DIY, artists and artisans, to legacy companies. Maker Fest is an opportunity for our community to celebrate our stories of ingenuity, versatility, commitment, and contribution, and to share the energy of our diverse and thriving makers.”
