We recognize that this is a unique time for our arts community as artists and arts organizations begin the long journey of recovering from and persisting through the pandemic and economic shutdown. As such, Lane Arts Council, with support of the City of Eugene Cultural Services Division, conducted a community outreach and assessment effort to design our 2021-22 Community Arts Grant and Artist Grant programs in a way that most closely responds to the current needs of local artists and arts organizations this year.

This assessment process included two focus groups and ten one-on-one conversations with arts organizations and arts groups, and an artist survey. In total, we heard from 77 individuals including artists, arts organization leaders, and creative programming staff. The data from our outreach efforts was used to inform the final design and funding priorities of our grant programs this year.

We understand these grant opportunities may not serve every artist or organization in our community. They have been designed with the intention of doing the most good for our community with the limited resources available.

The Community Arts Program Grant and Artist Grant are funded by the City of Eugene Cultural Services Division and administered by Lane Arts Council.
