Students will utilize discarded window envelopes from all that junk mail that comes to us each week to create dynamic and multi-patterned miniature houses. Transforming trash into a new treasure the name of the game with this incredibly fun and creative lesson. Supplies: junk mail envelopes, scissors, glue or tape; optional: coloring supplies
Students will create their own modeling dough from basic kitchen supplies in order to get their hands dirty with sculpture! Nicole will then guide students through depicting the phases of a plant as they sculpt the life cycle from seed to fruit with their newly made dough. This program explores biological concepts in a fun and creative way! Supplies: flour, salt, water, cream of tartar, food coloring, bowl, measuring cups and spoons, food storage container
Students will design their own imagined world through a variety of paper-based crafts! They will name their world, design its landscape, create original creatures, design plant life, and even create a sample greeting card from their invented civilization. This program will explore science concepts through the elements that create a connected ecosystem. Supplies: paper, scissors, ruler, pencil, coloring materials, and binding material (glue, tape, or staples)
