Lane Arts Council’s First Friday ArtWalk is the monthly celebration of downtown Eugene’s creative arts scene.

Jason Brown, Program Director for KLCC, will guest-host the upcoming April 5th First Friday ArtWalk, and will lead the guided tour to five highlighted ArtWalk venues.

The official guided tour begins at 5:30pm at Mary Spilde Downtown Center (101 W 10th Ave) featuring a showcase of work by students from the Division of Arts at Lane Community College.  Tropical Contemporary and City of Eugene Cultural Services take over Kesey Square (Willamette & Broadway) at 6pm for a special pop-up event. Join the KLCC (136 W 8th Ave) stop at 6:30pm to observe a live broadcast from the studio, or you can even choose a short scripted Station ID to record for your favorite KLCC show!  At 7pm the tour visits The Lincoln Gallery for MECCA’s Object Afterlife Art Challenge, which invited artists to make art from reusable materials.  The final stop at 7:30pm at Raven Frame Works (325 W 4th Ave) focuses on the art of framing, demonstrating how a frame can enhance or detract from an artwork.

Follow along the guided tour to hear from featured artists and for your chance to win tickets to Eugene Ballet’s The Firebird, or explore any of the listed ArtWalk venues on your own. The First Friday ArtWalk is from 5:30-8:00pm and always free!

Special thanks to our April ArtWalk sponsor Eugene Ballet’s The Firebird and our Media Sponsor KLCC.
