Lane Arts Council is seeking visual artists for the Artist Marketplace! Formerly in an alley space, Artist Marketplace is an opportunity for artists to bring a table and sell their original work during the First Friday ArtWalk! All visual arts mediums are welcome, including painting, ceramics, drawing, sculpture, etc. Artists can also work on the spot (please bring a ground cover to prevent messes). Artists must bring everything they require, including their original artwork and a way to display it (table, easels, etc). If you would like to bring a canopy, YOU MUST bring weights to hold it down.
Location: The Plaza on the east side of the Farmers Market Pavillion, 85 E 8th Ave, Eugene
Date: June 2nd & July 7th, 2023
Time: Artist Marketplace is officially open for business from 5:30-8pm. The fire marshal will be visiting 5:15pm so you must be 95% set up by that time (their rules). Set up can begin as early as 3:30pm. Please make sure you allocate enough prep time to meet this timeline.
Cost: At this point, the Artist Marketplace is gaining momentum after COVID19 so we are not charging a fee and are not requiring a portion of sales (although donations are always appreciated!)
Entertainment/Programming
In the main Farmers Market Pavilion (inside),
for June 2, there will be several dance performances and some live music.
for July 7, there will be R&B, rap, hip hop performances.
SUN/HEAT NOTE: Because we are outside, you may be in the sun for a portion of setup and/or the event. Because of this, I may place non-canopies artists closer to the building so they are shaded first. I’m still exploring this variable.
Disclaimer: If rain, we may need to cancel or downsize the marketplace since the interior of the Pavilion is already claimed for programming. This would probably only be an issue for June.
1) Which date you would like to participate: June 2nd or July 7th
2) Contact info: name, email, phone
3) Medium
4) Size of your requested space plus how many tables, are you bringing a canopy/weights, separate standing easels, etc. Some artists are as small as a 6 foot table.
5) If you are planning to work live, please let me know in advance and plan on bringing something to cover the ground or any other areas. We want to be sure to leave the space as beautiful as we found it, so we can continue using it.
Lane Arts Council will confirm your RSVP before the event.
