ArtSpark Eugene is a collaborative initiative led by Rotary Club of Eugene, Lane Arts Council, and Eugene School District 4J to provide every elementary school in the 4J school district with high-quality arts education through Lane Arts Council’s in-school Artist Residencies. Since being implemented, ArtSpark has created a 60% increase in hours of arts education provided in 4J elementary schools. Thanks to ArtSpark, thousands of 4J elementary school students receive hands-on arts education with a professional Teaching Artist each year.

The 2021-22 school year saw the return of in-person Artist Residencies to 4J elementary schools. Our Teaching Artists worked with over 3,500 elementary students, providing 915 hours of arts education in 155 classrooms. This year especially, Artist Residencies supported the mental health and well-being of young people in our community and provided a creative outlet as students adjusted to the return of in-person learning.

In April 2022, the Rotary Club of Eugene and Lane Arts Council hosted the fifth annual ArtSpark gala with both in-person and virtual events to raise funds for arts education. In addition to funds from the Eugene 4J School District, the $24,000 raised from the community will support artist residencies during the 2022-23 school year. We appreciate the many supporters of ArtSpark who have invested in creativity for our students!

Donations to ArtSpark along with funding from Eugene School District 4J make it possible for every 4J elementary school to have two full school Artist Residencies each year.

The success of the ArtSpark depends on supporters like you! Please consider a donation to put art in the hands of elementary school children today!
