The fun continues after the galleries close with ArtWalk After Hours. End your evening at the Farmers Market Pavilion, and dance into the weekend with a live performance by Eugene’s own Natsukashii Soul.

Natsukashii Soul is a high energy jazz/funk/neo-soul quintet from Eugene, Oregon and has been gaining attention with its distinctive musicality.  The band has performed over 60 live shows in Eugene, Corvallis and Portland. Natsukashii Soul is led by vocalist Autumn Rose with trumpeter Frank Visconti, Vincent Panero on keys and guitar, Greg McKelvey on bass and Sam Hayward on drums.

MAY IS BIKE MONTH

May is officially Bike Month in Lane County – so mark your calendars and get your bike ready to ride! Nationally celebrated since 1956, Bike Month has been celebrated in Lane County since 2014.Throughout the month, community members are invited to bike for fun, exercise, errands, and trips around town. Get ready for a kick-off party at Oakshire Brewing, a fun passport with prizes, a bike month challenge, a bike film fest, and fun rides, among other happenings. Keep your eyes peeled for this year’s Bike Month poster and fill-out your Bike Month passport to win swag including bells, pins, mugs, and bandanas – all designed by local artist Erick Wonderly. Simply pick- up a Bike Month passport at your local bike shop and gather passport stickers by attending Bike Month events or visiting local bike shops.

CMA2 INTERNATIONAL MOSIC EXHIBITION

110 E 11th Ave

 Among the special shows this month at The New Zone Art Gallery, one of note is the CMA2 International Mosaic Exhibition, a juried show featuring 38 diverse mosaic artists from 13 States and three countries. Michelle Sider mosaic creation Hoisted Hulls can be seen on the May First Friday ArtWalk poster. This Exhibition showcases vibrant and colorful art pieced together to create beautiful scenes.
