Presented at Veneta Elementary School in partnership with Lane Arts Council, our All About Art summer camp happens each year for three weeks in June and July (9:00am – 12:00pm each day). This hands-on camp offers safe, fun experiences in the visual and performing arts for youth entering into the 1st through 6th grades. The camp is led by Alex Lanham and Merideth Ferrell, both professional artists with extensive experience in youth programming.

2018 Summer Camp

The 2018 All About Art summer camp was all about Global Explorations as students experienced music and dance from different cultures, incorporated famous landmarks into their painting, and learned to sculpt animals from around the world.

Camp kicked off with students learning traditional Hawaiian dance and music. Students painted wildlife from different parts of the world through individual and collaborative silk painting and clay sculpture, painted ceramic tiles, and learned how to make their own drawing books to use the rest of the summer. Campers explored cultural stories with Applegate Regional Theatre and learned traditional Guinea, West African performance including call and response song, dance, and playing hand-made percussion instruments. The three weeks ended with a showcase of camper-created works celebrating creativity from around the world!
