Current Internship & Volunteer Opportunities

Arts Summer Camp in Veneta (June 25 – July 12, 2018)

Requirements: interest in arts education and working with elementary-age youth and families.
Choose to volunteer for just one or two weeks, or all three weeks; 8:30am-12:00pm each day. Learn more about our summer camp at

Choose one of two volunteer positions:

  1. Registration: assist with checking in participants as they arrive,  support a “re-focus” space for campers when needed, help set up snacks, and oversee the check-out process.
  2. Studio Assistant:  support teaching artists and campers with their creative activities throughout the day.

Arts Education (August-June)

Depending on interest and availability, an arts education internship or practicum could provide support in one or multiple focus areas:

  • Assist with Gigabit Artist Residency program (assessment, coordinate teacher training, program development)
  • Assist with Product of Eugene arts apprenticeship program (coordinate kick-off, workshop and showcase; develop outreach materials; compile and track paperwork)
  • Documentation of in-school programming; content creation for digital/social media
  • Assist with scheduling of artist residencies

Workshops and Artist Resources (year-round)

Requirements: interest in community outreach and supporting artists; writing and communications skills

  • Setup/breakdown of five workshops; processing registrations and checking in participants
  • Outreach and promotion for workshops and special events
  • Support development of 2018-2019 workshops
  • Assist with development of other professional development and resources for artists

First Friday ArtWalk and Events (year-round)

Requirements: interest in community arts and public events; writing and communication skills

  • Assist with scheduling galleries for tour
  • Produce monthly press releases and fliers; community calendars and social media
  • Distribution of posters and handbills
  • Assist with coordination of special events and tabling opportunities

Resources (year-round)

Requirements: attention to detail; writing and communication skills

  • Assist with grant information
  • Research possible funding sources
  • Review status of grants that have been received by Lane Arts Council, and report to grantors

First Friday ArtWalk Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities during the First Friday ArtWalk (year-round)

  • ArtWalk Ambassador
    Answer ArtWalkers questions about the First Friday ArtWalk and welcome them to the various galleries on the tour
  • ArtWalk Photographer
    Take photographs of the First Friday ArtWalk, to be shared through social media, Lane Arts Council website, and more
  • ArtWalk Promoter
    Deliver ArtWalk materials to spread the word about First Friday ArtWalk
  • Artist Alley Volunteer
    Help coordinate and manage the Artist Alley during the ArtWalk
  • Surveyor – for annual survey, annual participant count, and quarterly AEP5 study 
    Distribute and collect surveys from attendees during the ArtWalk
