Project Description
Earth Art offers students the opportunity to explore the beauty of the natural world while developing their artistic skills. In this residency, students will engage in the creative process by collecting natural elements, such as leaves, twigs, moss, and other materials found in the outdoors. These treasures will then be used to create mosaics that reflect the beauty and diversity of nature. This residency will enhance a student’s artistic abilities, encourage creative thinking and self-confidence, and create a deeper connection between the student and nature. By integrating the elements of nature into their artwork, students will experience a holistic learning process that engages their minds, hearts, and bodies.
Final Product
Students will have a completed nature-inspired mosaic.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will have learned about the history of mosaic art
- Students will have developed skills in collecting and identifying natural materials to use in artwork.
- Students will have explored mosaic design techniques, and applied adhesive to assemble their artworks.
