The new school year brings fresh opportunities for middle and high school students to expand their artistic skills while exploring the professional world of design through Design Arts Apprenticeship. During the 10-week program a professional designer will guide students through the design process and introduce them to the tools that are unique to their artistry. Apprentices use the knowledge gained to create their own original designs and artwork. A showcase at Lane Arts Council’s January First Friday ArtWalk on January 6, 2023 will give students an opportunity to display their work. The Design Arts Apprenticeship program utilizes a “pay what you can” model, so no student will be denied an opportunity due to financial limitations.
