Fiesta Cultural is Lane County’s largest celebration of Latino/a/x arts, culture, and heritage, featuring in-person and virtual programs and events happening throughout Lane County from September to December. An initiative led by Lane Arts Council to integrate communities through the arts, Fiesta Cultural engages all of Lane County through multicultural programs, activities, and events put on by the community.

Interested in participating?  Lane Arts Council is seeking additional events, projects, and programs from the community to add to the Fiesta Cultural calendar, as well as more Latino/a/x and indigenous artists to feature during Fiesta Cultural.

The Maude Kerns Art Center celebrates the 28th annual Día de los Muertos Exhibit in 2021 with artwork, community altars, and a special Day of the Dead Gift Shop. The exhibit, which can be viewed in person or online, is on display Friday, October 15th through Friday, November 5.

The Mexican Day of the Dead celebration acknowledges the link between the communities of the living and the dead. The holiday blends the ancient harvest rituals of the Aztec god of death and the Roman Catholic holidays of All Souls and All Saints days. On November 1 and 2, the dead are thought to return to partake in the activities of the living. Holiday activities include the creation of altars that welcome deceased loved ones.

Online video tours of the Día de los Muertos Exhibit for children and adults will be available on the Art Center’s website at mkartcenter.org.
